***For reasons of believing that cinema is not just expression. It is something that should seek to move people, inspire them, akin to theater but crippled by special effects, strategic camera shots, and always, the innumberable liberties taken

*** Adaptation, Punc-Drunk Love, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Finding Forrester, Letters From Iwo Jima, Traffic, Babble, and many other films I haven't gotten to should indubitably be on this list as well. Thinking of all the movies I've seen in my life makes me feel old.

The Ghost Writer and Shutter Island are out, slapping those silly Valentine's Day chick flicks out of the aisles.
